Bobbi Photo Workshop

I’ve had an amazing week. For the past two days, I’ve had the pleasure of learning from my photography idol, Bobbi Sheridan from Bobbi Photo. You guys have no idea how much of a Stan I am for Bobbi…like if there was a Bobbi Sheridan Fan Club, I would be the president. I started following her blog when I was in the eighth grade – almost 10 years ago!

The last few years have been a rollercoaster ride for Bobbi, and she announced that this would probably be her last ever Bobbi Photo Workshop in Indianapolis. After I picked my jaw up off of the floor, I immediately said to myself….I HAVE to go…I will do whatever it takes to attend this workshop. And wow, am I glad I did.

Photography has always been something I’ve done in my free time. When I was in high school…when I was a college student….and even currently with a full-time desk job. I was in a really great position at this workshop because I was one of the youngest and newest at trying to start a successful business. I was able to learn not only from Bobbi, but I also got to network and learn a lot from the other photographers taking the workshop that are successfully doing this full time.

My biggest takeaway from this workshop is something Bobbi stressed over and over again during our two days with her. It’s all about authenticity and confidence. You are the only you there is…show that in your brand. And be confident about it…own the situation. Even if you’re screwing up, even if you’re feeling awkward or embarrassed, don’t show that. Don’t second guess yourself. Confidence is attractive.

This is probably the biggest flaw in my business. I often second guess myself and I know sometimes that shows to clients. I am going to work hard on that and incorporate all of Bobbi’s “impeccable” 😉 advice with everything I do from now on.

Bobbi, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for opening your home to us all and pouring your heart out to us about anything and everything. She was an open book about her business, and in this industry that’s often hard to come by. Also, shoutout to Meg $$ for being amazing and rocking my dream job as Bobbi’s right-hand woman.

I left this workshop feeling overwhelmingly motivated to grow my photography business. I’m excited for things to come in 2018 and beyond. I hope you all are just as excited to join me on my journey to creating a successful business.

Thanks for reading. 🙂
