I’m so excited to finally share this beautiful wedding with you all. If you read my previous blog post about Lucas & Natalie, you know that I’ve been friends with Natalie for a long time now. I was so honored to be able to spend the day documenting all of the wonderful memories that were made.
Lucas and Natalie met during the summer of 2010. They met each other when they both started working at the same summer camp. Natalie said she fell for him the second she laid eyes on him. They started talking and eventually dating before the summer ended. Lucas was playing football for a college over two hours away and Natalie was still a junior in High School, so they had to do the whole long distance relationship thing for a while. Eventually, Lucas transferred to a closer college.
Their wedding and reception were at a family friend’s event barn in West Vigo, Indiana. It was the perfect place for a wedding. The ceremony took place outside in front of the pond with the changing Autumn leaves as a backdrop, and the reception was inside of the event barn which was filled with cool antiques and memorabilia.
We started the day bright and early at Lucas and Natalie’s house. All of the bridesmaids stayed the night so they could get up early to start getting ready.
Natalie’s wedding dress was amazing. There were so many small details and the open back made the entire dress!
At first, Lucas and Natalie wanted to keep it traditional and see each other for the first time when she walked down the isle. However, they changed their minds last minute to save some time after the ceremony, and I’m so glad they did because their first look was perfect!
I went to high school with half of these girls and most of them are some of my best friends to this day. That made my job super easy because it didn’t even seem like a job at all. It felt like we were in high school again just getting ready for homecoming or prom.
It’s my absolute favorite when a bride and groom decide to write their own vows instead of sticking to the traditional ones. 9 times out of 10 there is crying involved. Though most of the bridesmaids were crying before Natalie even made it to the end of the aisle.
Thank you again to Lucas and Natalie for having me. It was such a blast and one of the prettiest weddings I’ve attended.
Excuse my untucked shirt….I was a (dancing) guest too, okay?
